Anton Cherkasov

Anton Cherkasov is a musician and crystallographer from Nizhny Novgorod. He established himself as perfectionist by releasing music not really often, but with hundred percent realization of idea. In 2006, after several releases on 20kbps records (as Holden), Anton organized Rat Hole — a small group of music lovers, deejays and musicians, not indifferent to electronic music. Rat Hole made events, and Anton, at the same time, took care about two netlabels — Green Rat and Dead Rat.

In his creative work Anton often appears as a collaborator. Thus, he took part in the projects «Sirens» and «Bach XXL» in cooperation with Olga Shaydullina (composer), Evgeniy Strelkov (artist), string quartet, and Lillevan Pobjoy (video artist), combining music of sine waves and string instruments with conceptually programmed video.

A certain page in his biography occupied by practices of noise and ambient improvisations in a duo with his buddy Stanislav Vdovin, using soviet analogue gear, laptop processing, and also digital synthesis. One of such performances was recorded in 2007 in Moscow, and lately (in 2010) released on Occasion.
